I haven't been to Trolltunga (The Troll's Tongue) yet, but I have been to Prekestolen, which was a bit scary.

Re: The pictures taken by you thread
I am in the north of Norway now, at about the 70th North parallel. Yesterday we went for a hike up to the mountain Duonnavárri which reaches about 480 MASML. Although it isn't a high mountain, the view is spectacular over the islands and mountains in Alta.
The first picture shows the view from the summit directly northwards. We reached the summit at 9 pm. At this time of the year the sun never sets, so it is great to hike at night. The second picture shows a reindeer herd we came across. The last picture shows part of the mosquito swarm that followed us at parts of the hike. We didn't have face nets so breathing was done through the fist so as to not swallow the bastards. I closed up my sleeves so only my face was exposed.

Seems like a cool adventure

Somehow I'd overlooked this thread when I posted my pic in the "random picture thread" a couple o' months ago, but never mind... Here's one from the garden (imagine for yourself some "bssss" noise by all those bees)!

Re: The pictures taken by you thread
This is a place I can imagine the "Holy Grail" being hidden in. Found it by coincidence on a hiking tour in May (I didn't even really know the village existed, even though it's not far from my home), came out of the woods and saw the little chapel on top of the hill...

A new pic from yesterday (another hiking tour in the south of Germany, rock formation in a valley in the woods):

One day I will, it's not too far and there's a nice valley below which I'd visited before. Not sure if this year or next year though, as there are many other nice places (castles, rocks, caves) around. If you wanna know more:

Oh yes indeed!
I think there are a few places where you can try your luck yourself, like this:
http://www.urweltsteinbruch.de/
(German only, sorry)
And there's a museum with lots of fossils in the same place (Holzmaden).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holzmaden
Haven't been there for ages, one day I will go again.

Out of curiosity I looked this up last night when I saw Soulmonster's query: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinosaur_Footprints
I've always heard about this place near me but I have never visited the preserve.

Have you also walked all the way round the tip of the peninsula?

I was there just for one day last week and didn't have enough time. I just looked at "Grote di Catullo" and went to one of the beaches.

I had a short trip to Frankonia (in north of Bavaria, Germany), I liked this square with the church, so took a pic:

The coral is beautiful. I have tried to photograph underwater through aquarium glass and it is not easy. Good job. I am also wondering does this coral grow very slow so it will be some time still before they do meet?

The one to the left grows a few mm every month, the one to the right grows about 1-2 cm every month. In a few weeks they will meet and the fighting will ensue.@puddledumpling wrote:The coral is beautiful. I have tried to photograph underwater through aquarium glass and it is not easy. Good job. Why say fighting? Perhaps they will meet and realize a sense of "together we are strong" and then mesh nicely. They build reefs en mass, Yes?
