No, it is not you, it is the video. AI was one of the tools used.

It's like tip-toeing around a very serious topic, by making it into teddy bears and balloons. I don't know if I like it. I think I would have preferred the monsters to be more menacing rather than cartoonish, to really make them represent child abuse. Still, I get it, I am just not sure the execution of the idea succeeded fully. You would have to know the backstory, or get it from the lyrics, to understand what it is all about.

I have talked to the creative director behind the music video and he is not sure how much he can talk about the relationship between the band and management and them in deciding on the story and the level of details and connection to reality they were allowed to go.

If that is Axl's writing, which it seems like, it suggests that Axl was directly involved in the video. It also begs the question, are those Axl's drawings, too?

It resembles Axl's writing a bit, but after comparing it to notes, letters etc. written by Axl that can be found online, I don't think it is. For example, Axl's "G" letter is different and he also doesn't always write "E" this way.
