Question about the name Guns And Roses? ????

Why is it called Guns and Roses when Axl Rose is the ONLY Rose? Shouldn't it be Guns And Rose?

I think it simply sounded better.

A Fan of Guns And Roses claimed she saw Axl Rose in like 1984 singing for fun on the streets of L.A and she and he had a nice conversation about his hopes of breaking out big in the Music World and she said something like,"You're going to be a big singing star soon with your own band that is also big. He asked her something like,"Is the name of my Band going to be LA Guns? " And she responded something like,"Well, it's going to have the word ,"Guns," in it. Traci's excerpt seems more realistic than Axl singing on the streets of LA for fun in around 1984 and chatting with some random Woman about him being a soon to be huge singing star in the Music World with his own band!

Actually back in the day it was Duff 'Rose' McKagan - in his book Duff mentions that he and Axl (when they had similar hair cuts) were called "the Rose brothers".

Recently I re-watched parts of "Terminator II" and had to laugh at the scene when Arnie walks in with a bouquet of roses and is hiding a gun in it, clearly a reference to GN'R.
