Re: What are you doing?
I finally got round to do some accountancy stuff I'd wanted to do for a while now...
and yeah it sucks as much as I thought it would.
But still glad I'm going to get this done soon...

I am browsing internet, and my usual stroll includes this site, during a ferocious thunderstorm while wondering if the mailman delivered my copy of Rat Scabies and The Holy Grail today

Finally finished the accountancy stuff. Numbers seem to correct (if not, my tax consultant will have to fix things...).
@puddledumpling: that thunderstorm was probably a sign not to read the book. Be warned, when reading this, you'll have to do terrible things, like visiting old churches, Templar castles, or even travelling to France and all that stuff!

That's interesting. Where you from? Bulgaria? Because our media (here in Germany) seems to concentrate on protests in Brazil and Turkey, Bulgaria seems to be ignored. That's no good.

I had no idea there were protests in Bulgaria. Why are they protesting?

Re: What are you doing?
Wow, I am admiring the Global Voices site - I just shared it with a friend.
Like Uli, I have noticed that my own country will have extensive media coverage of current events in certain other countries yet not others. I can see how news of citizens effectively altering the makeup of their government with protests might be uncomfortable for a sitting government with scandal and corruption exposed by the media every once in a while like my country. Maybe that is like every country - the latest bad guys here are corporations, not individuals with names and faces.
I knew about the citizen protests that brought about "dismissal" of the previous Bulgarian government from a Bulgarian friend in a different forum, not because of U.S. media coverage of the events. I admit that most of the news I follow daily is just my local region and reflecting now on that, I focus my attention on the good news.
It seems that in many countries scandal and corruption continues unchecked regardless of who is voted in or otherwise in power.

Re: What are you doing?
Today is the 11th day. The protest is peaceful and civilized.
It seems the government has no intention of resigning.
The protest will continue until Wednesday, then the protesters provide occupation of parliament.

Hopefully the time spent protesting will at least provide networking opportunity for citizens who feel compelled to come out in protest and consolidation of individuals for resulting more power to the people.

I'm alright. It's bleedin' hot though.
Short trips within Germany are on the agenda for August.
Enjoy your holidays!

Less than a week left of my vacation. It's been good. After the trip far north we've just been working on our house. The weather's been great.

Drinking beer and listening to my wife sing and play the piano. Wanted to be out drinking with friends tonight, but this really isn't too bad either.

Good idea, I hope the food was good!
I myself am dead-tired now. First of all we had to put the clock back to "normal" Middle European time last night and also I spent the afternoon in an art museum (incl kid's museum) with my nieces etc. (exhausting)...

The food was good. Friendly atmosphere with lots of people working there, all looking like they could be Marc's aunts and uncles.
