G N’R GET HORNY

The comeback band have been unveiling yet more new material - and it's a bit surprising to say the least...

It has emerged that GUNS N’ROSES unveiled another new track from their ‘CHINESE DEMOCRACY’ album at their ROCK IN RIO gig on Sunday (January 14).

www.mtv.com reports the track, ‘Madagascar’, as being “a georgeous piece” which “recalled nothing so much as the mid-period Beatles with all their quaint little horn ornamentations”.

The song also features samples of the voice of civil rights activist Martin Luther King, and was backed at the festival performance, in front of a 190,000-strong crowd, with film footage of King and civil rights protests from the 1960s.

As previously reported on NME.COM, the band unveiled four new songs from ‘Chinese Democracy’ at their New Year’s Eve Las Vegas comeback gig.

In further Rock In Rio gossip, Axl Rose spent over two hours chatting with fans by the pool of the Intercontinental Hotel, during which he revealed some of the inner tensions that led to the disintegration of the band’s original incarnation .

He claimed that former drummer Steven Adler’s drum parts had to be remixed over 90 times on some songs, bassist Duff McKagan suffered panic attacks during the band’s performances, while Izzy Stradlin and Slash were locked in battle for leadership of the group. He also cited Slash’s drug use as another contributory factor.
