Transcript:
The Los Angeles recording studio that pampered pop stars from Bonnie Raitt to Axl Rose and gave birth to such classic albums as the Eagles' "Hotel California" is closing for good next week. Opened in 1969, the Record Plant spawned tales of rock-star antics. It was the place where recording artists could indulge their every whim. "Stevie Nicks liked people following her around with candles when she did overdubs," studio manager Rose Mann said. "And Neil Diamond wanted a living room setting for vocals." Rose, lead singer for Guns N' Roses, recently moved his bed, drawing table and StairMaster into the studio while recording the group's latest album.
