Better Guns And Roses song? Welcome To The Jungle or Paradise City? ????

Head to Head comparison of Guns And Roses songs, Welcome To The Jungle or Paradise City. Which is better? On a Paradise City song video, a Guns And Roses Fan said that Welcome To The Jungle was Guns And Roses best song. I replied something like,"Paradise City is much better than Welcome To The Jungle to me. Welcome To The Jungle, Axl was dipping his toe in the ocean so to speak, but Paradise City, well, he was fully swimming in the ocean. I feel that Welcome To The Jungle is the definitive Guns And Roses song, but Paradise City is where Axl is completely at ease with himself and REALLY let's loose. The 6:53 version of Paradise City is beyond phenomenal and one of the best rock songs of all time.

What do you guys think?

I have got to go with Welcome to the Jungle. I don't really like the chorus in Paradise City, it is too...jolly, in a sense. Welcome is more aggressive throughout and has the better vocals.

Hmm. Axl gets downright aggressive in the 6:53 version. Especially the last two minutes. He gives off the vibe of,"Take me to the Paradise City now Damnit!" Vibe! He goes from a wistful, nostalgic type of,"I'd like to go to the Paradise City, to,"I NEED to go to to the Paradise City, I'd do anything to go to the Paradise City, I'm desperate to go to the Paradise City!" He sounds damn near possessed in those last two minutes.

Is that 6:53 version one of the demos?

It's an extended Version. I heard the Extended Version on a Music Channel like Pandora. I was always used to the Radio version edit where it ends when Axl sings,"Won't you take me home," at around the 4:53 mark. I was blown away when the aggressive two minutes were added. I was like,"Where did this aggressive two minutes come from? I am pleasantly surprised!

The album version is 6:45 minutes, according to Spotify. So I suppose that's the version you are talking about. I don't think I have heard the radio edit where the last two minutes with the long Slash solo is removed

I found the 6:53 version I was talking about on YouTube, but I was forbidden to post links due to me being a brand new member.

I listened to Sweet Child Of Mine and Welcome To The Jungle a little while ago, and I also enjoyed these two songs a lot! Maybe it's a three way tie between Paradise City, Welcome To The Jungle, and Sweet Child Of Mine as best Guns And Roses song!

Is it just me, or does Axl at least when he was younger sound like he is drunk/ sleep deprived/stoned/high a lot of the time when he is speaking in his normal low and deep voice? His singing voice is high pitched and loud like, "Rockeeettttt Queeeen! Oh yeah!" His speaking voice is like,"R....o...c...k...e...tQ...u..ee...nnnnn." Like he is slurring his words in a drunken stupor

The radio versions only have about a 4:47 version, so I was blown away by the roughly extra two minutes of the Album Version. I was like,"Wow! "He REALLY gets explosive in those roughly last two minutes! "

I had grown up on "Sweet Child Of Mine," and Axl doesn't do that desperate, urgent, loud, passionate, fast singing in it. Sweet Child of mine is honest and raw, but doesn't have a sense of urgency in it
I was pleasantly surprised by Paradise City as I had NEVER heard Axl sing like that before. Once again, I used to think that Sweet Child Of Mine was their ONLY song and Axl doesn't sing with the urgency of Paradise City in Sweet Child Of Mine. But as I listen to more and more Guns N'Roses songs, I realize that the urgency Axl uses in Paradise City is pretty standard for a LOT of his songs. So Paradise City is no longer all that special to me anymore. I actually enjoy Perfect Crime much more than Paradise City now. Perfect Crime is even MORE urgent than Paradise City is. I listened to Perfect Crime like 7 times in a row before finally stopping....

Hmm. I listened to Paradise City a few minutes ago and it is still a REALLY good song. Paradise City still fills me with the,"Wow! This song is awesome!" Vibe. 🤪  Perfect Crime is also a REALLY good song. I think I'll add Perfect Crime to the "Best,"  Guns N'Roses tie song. 🤪 Perfect Crime, Paradise City, Welcome To The Jungle, Sweet Child Of Mine four way tie for "Best," Guns N'Roses song. 🤪
