Marc Canter and Jack Lue were there. They both documented the beginning of GNR and put together the 2008 book "Reckless Road: Guns N' Roses and the Making of Appetite for Destruction."
Hear these two friends discuss how they got involved in the GNR world and reflect on many iconic moments in the band's history. We also ask them YOUR questions.

Excerpts from Alternative Nation:
-----------------------------------------

Axl Rose and Guns N’ Roses almost had a biopic film for the book Reckless Road made by James Franco a few years ago, but Axl’s camp didn’t appear to be interested according to Marc Canter on the Appetite for Distortion podcast. Alternative Nation transcribed his comments.

“Well, there was one, and James Franco actually got a hold of Reckless Road, and he wanted to put one together based on Reckless Road. This was a few years back, maybe 2014. Sure, I would love for that to happen, but of course first they’ve got to get the rights to it, as far as the music, and obviously the band has to get involved. At that time, they still weren’t together, so that was going to be a hat trick.”

Canter added, “I told James all the challenges that are going to be there, but he liked the book so much they still put together a deal to attempt to make it, to get that done, or at least see if they can get the rights to it, which they didn’t, so it got scrapped. The thing with the biopics is they can be hit and miss. It’s hard to find someone to play you and get it right. If you’re one person, it’s easier to do. The Queen one came out really good, and that’s not one person, that’s more than one person. You never know, it could be hit and miss, but there’s such good stories there and how that came out. There’s definitely three movies just out of the club days.”
