Kyuss - Stoner rock pioneers
I can't remember when and how I first got into Kyuss, it must have been just when they were breaking up -- typically, and it was probably some friends that recommended it. Well, that was the first stoner rock band I liked and it opened the doors to many other great bands, like Fu Manchu, Monster Magnet, Thulsa Doom, Orange Gobl9in, and of course to Queens of the Stone Age, Slo Burn, Unida and other bands that sprang out of the demise of Kyuss.
Here are a few songs I believe represent Kyuss quite well.
'Demon Cleaner', perhaps their most poppy song, later covered by Tool:
'Spaceship Landing', Kyuss at their most psychedelic and beautiful:
'Gardenia', very typical Kyuss:

Not really a fan of stoner rock or stoner metal but Kyuss are a great band. Wretch is a fantastic album. Blues For The Red Sun is a masterpiece of the genre, methinks at least.

I agree on the Blues comment and would add Sky Valley as a masterpiece too, but Wretch, although some songs are really good, has a too unpolished and clanky sound for me.
