Re: 1992.01.10 - The Summit, Houston, USA
Last night we had some protesters here at the show. (?) I got to watch the news, and there was some fucking idiots (?) I mean, I don’t care if you’re bi, tri, quad or anybody the fuck you are. (?) So, Queer Nation is upset. Queer Nation has every fucking right to be upset because of the kind of assholes I was talking about. If you see the “Don’t Cry” video, at the end of it says, “Thanks Joseph.” Joseph is a deejay in L.A., who is gay, and he’s, like, the coolest rock deejay. (?) He played a lot of punk rock shit for a really long time. He got into Guns N’ Roses and turned our tape on to the record company. He got people play us in their favorite videos on MTV. (?) It’s like, I don’t give a flying fuck what you are. (?) But what I’m curious about, is why a TV station in Houston is basically giving these people air time to say their views and supporting that, over supporting rock ‘n’ roll and the 20,000 people that are here to have a good time. Don’t you find it strange that, like, the news would be giving time to organizations that send bomb threats to companies, that send death threats...? You know, basically, they don’t give a fuck. The news, the media, (?). What kind of crock of shit is that? [Onstage at The Summit, Houston, TX, USA, January 10, 1992] |
