Italian Guns N' Roses Fan Site Goes 'On Strike' To Protest Lack Of Official Information

Italian Guns N' Roses fan site Gnronline.it has announced that it has gone "on strike" to protest the lack of official information regarding the band and the "phantom" album "Chinese Democracy". Specifically, the Gnronline.it administrators are claiming that GN'R management is playing favorites with the two big American fan sites, while other worldwide fan sites are being left in the dark despite their efforts over the course of the last ten years to support the group. The Gnronline.it web site is not being updated and the almost 3,000-user forum is not being moderated until January 1, 2007. After that day, the entire site will be closed.

"Chinese Democracy", which has been in works for more than a decade, is rumored to have cost more than $13 million, with singer Axl Rose reportedly funding a portion out of his own pocket after his label refused to give him more money.

A spokesperson for Universal Music Canada recently told the Toronto Sun that they have "no indication that a Guns N' Roses record will be released this year." Rumors were rampant this fall that the CD would surface on November 21. The group's management denied that, but hinted that the album could emerge before 2006 breathed its last second of possibility.
