Quotes:
This was the only gig they played [Indiana Ain't My Kinda Town]. Nov 22, 1985 Troubadour their first sold out gig and it was the first time we put a full page in Bam magazine to promote the gig. Because Steven broke his peddle is why the band started playing the song. They were just fooling around to kill some time while someone was trying to fix the Bass drum. As far as I know the song was never finished and what they played was most likely improvised. Still it was very cool that they did it. It almost sounds like a cover song.

I recorded it at the Troubadour Nov 22, 1985 it was their first sold out gig. We took out a full page ad in Bam magazine for that gig and it paid off. Steven had some problems with his bass drum peddle and there was some down time during the gig because of it. I think Izzy started strumming the song and then the band just went for it. I didn't even know the song existed until then. I thought that they just sort of made it up on the spot. Maybe it was something that Izzy and Axl once played around with but never finished it?

Then we just started playing. We did Mondays at the Troubadour; then we were doing Tuesdays. That was like God for us at the time, just opening for bands at the Troubadour. We were all like, wow... this is it! Then all of a sudden they had bands opening for us.
Mick Wall, GUNS N' ROSES: The Most Dangerous Band in the World, Sidgwick & Jackson, U.K. 1991, 1993; interview from January 1990
Next concert: 1985.12.20 - Music Machine, Los Angeles, CA, USA.
Previous concert: 1985.11.14 - The Lipstick Fixx at The Galaxy, Hollywood, CA, USA.

Despite what was written on the setlist paper, after "Whole Lotta Rosie" the band started to play "Mama Kin" but stooped because technical dificulties with the Steven's bass drum pedal. So was improvised a seven minutes song called "Indiana Ain't My Kind Of Town" (probably played only this once) and then the band finishes the show with "Heartbreak Hotel".
Before the release of "Reckless Road" book (2007) with some audio snippets fron this show, the recording of "Indiana..." from it was surfacing since early 2000's, but mistakenly credited to Hollywood Rose.
The flag GN'R logo designed by Slash costed US$ 250 and debut on this Troubadour gig, the first GN'R sold out!
Opening acts: Feline, Kix.

Thank you!
I knew they played this song somewhere but wasn't sure where. I see that setlist.fm has been updated with this information, too.
May I ask how you know so much detail about this show?
And OP updated.

i wouldn't trust setlist.fm for older stuff. Anyone can register and post anything on that site, right?

Yeah, I know, and I have found lots of errors in it. So you got to handle it with care.

A lot of care! "They" put some '91 setlists from gigs with no info at gnrontour.com also adding the exact "note" written by John M. Ha! I really think they just invented those setlists!
