Gibson Records has also announced that it has entered into a strategic label partnership for the release with BMG, the world’s fourth-biggest music company.

“It’s an honor to be the first release on the new, Gibson Records. It’s a zenith in our partnership for sure and having worked so closely with Gibson for so long, I know they will be a label that genuinely supports their artists creatively. “BMG congratulates Gibson on the launch of their new label and is proud to collaborate with Gibson Records on its inaugural album release,” says Thomas Scherer, President, BMG Repertoire and Marketing, New York, and Los Angeles. This is the perfect match between two global brands with an unrivaled reverence for iconic artists and respect to service their creative talents. Myles Kennedy talking about the new SMKC album. Audio Ink Radio, September 2, 2021:

You also sing leads in Slash’s band. What’s the status of your new album with Slash? I see it’s coming out on Gibson Records.

Myles Kennedy: Yeah. So, we made a record earlier this year, and it’s in the can. I think the goal is just when the time’s appropriate, we’re going to put it out, hopefully next year- hopefully early next year. And, it’s number- I’m trying to remember which number record it is. It’s hard to believe we’ve been doing this for, gosh, I think the first songs I recorded with Slash were in 2009, which is crazy. So, it’s definitely a long run there.

What can you tell me about the new music with Slash?

Myles Kennedy: The thing about the record is that it’s got a live vibe to it. It was a record that was recorded in kind of an old-school way. So, with that said, without giving too much away, it definitely has a bit of that energy and that vibe that a lot of us listened to growing up. So, it was fun. It was a fun record to make.

Q104.3/Blabbermouth, Sept. 14, 2021:

*
In a new interview with Jonathan Clarke of New York's Q104.3 radio station, Myles Kennedy spoke about the upcoming album from Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators. The effort will be the follow-up to "Living The Dream", which came out in September 2018 via Slash's own label Snakepit Records, in partnership with Roadrunner Records. The disc was Slash's fourth solo album, and third with Slash and his Conspirators bandmates Kennedy, Todd Kerns (bass, vocals), Brent Fitz (drums) and Frank Sidoris (guitar and vocals).

"We started putting things together — technically, we started putting things together for that record, writing songs, on the last tour back in 2018, I think, or '19, whatever it was," Myles said. "So, yeah, we have a lot of stuff to pool from. And as we've been saying, it's in the can, the tunes are in the can, so we're good to go. It's just a matter of finding a window to release the stuff."
