In the latest episode Hot Press Classics, Paul Nolan breaks down the brilliance of Led Zeppelin’s 1973 classic Houses Of The Holy. The Hot Press Contributing Ed examines the album’s stylistic eclecticism, Zep’s unique melodic flair and the phenomenal musical chemistry between Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and John Bonham.
Elsewhere, the episode examines Led Zeppelin’s remarkable quality control throughout their career, their massive impact on music and culture, and how their legacy extends into the 21st century. Also coming under the microscope are the the band’s famous 2007 reunion show, their hell-raising reputation, wild tours and the moments of tragedy that marked their story.
Rounding out the episode are interviews with Slash and Foo Fighters’ Chris Shiflett about their love of Zeppelin, with Chris also discussing his encounters with the band, and the legendary Wembley stadium show when the Foos were joined for a couple of numbers by Page and Jones.
