Duff McKagan and Slash Unleash New Gibson Charity Single “I Can Breathe”: Stream
The Guns N' Roses bandmates collaborated with Gibson CEO Cesar Gueikian on the track

Guns N’ Roses bandmates Duff McKagan and Slash have collaborated with Gibson CEO Cesar Gueikian on a new charity single titled “I Can Breathe.” It’s the lastest benefit song released under the Gibson Band moniker.
A year ago, System of a Down’s Serj Tankian and Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi appeared on the first Gibson Band charity single with Gueikian, a track called “Deconstruction.”
The new song, “I Can Breathe,” features McKagan on lead vocals, Slash on lead guitar and solos, and Gueikian on rhythm guitar and piano. The lyrics were penned by McKagan.
All proceeds from the song will benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), through Gibson Gives.
“It was such a pleasure to work with Cesar and his whole crew on this tune,” said McKagan in a press release. “The musical slant and progressive rock-ness of this huge epic pushed me in a whole new direction. I love a challenge and Cesar killed it! Most importantly, to be of service for mental health issues and awareness is super important to me at this time. Let’s rock!”
Slash added, “Cesar and Duff came to me with a really cool piece of music. I loved the riff idea, and Duff’s vocal, so I felt right at home on the track.”
Gueikian stated, “Guns N’ Roses had a profound influence on me and my guitar playing, so having the opportunity to write and record this song with Slash and Duff is a dream come true, and it’s an honor to call them friends and partners.”

Listened to it a few more times. I like the verses and chorus now. It is a grower. It will never be a great song to me, but I doubt I will get tired of it, either. I really don't like the solo, though, it seems to be from a different song and I think I hear a bum not, at least a note that glaringly sticks out to me. Duff's vocals are so processed I can't really hear it is him, which I suppose is good.
