London, July 16 (IANS) Singer Morrissey has parted ways with executives at record label Universal and manager Irving Azoff over their poor judgment surrounding his last album release.

“Years of Refusal” the ninth solo album by Morrissey, was a critical success but the sales flop.

“Universal and my then-manager decided to release my last album during Brit Awards week, an unwinnable situation for someone like me, who is the exact opposite of Brit Awards wretchedness,” contactmusic.com quoted the 52-year-old as saying.

“I suffered badly against the usual sandblast of Brit Awards publicity, and my relationship with Universal and my management collapsed due to their bad judgment. Everything matters,” he added.

“The Panic” singer reveals he has a new album of songs ready to record but there will be no label.

“Universal say they are interested, but their communications have gaps of eight weeks, so they obviously aren’t that serious,” he said.
